Staying Healthy in Stressful Times

No matter what side of the political spectrum you stand on we can all agree that we as a society are in the midst of great distress.

Our bodies are designed to withstand and adapt to a great deal of stress, physical, chemical and mental/emotional.

In today’s world though, the stresses have become excessive and toxic, leading to overload beyond the body’s ability to adapt or even cope.

This is leading to a whole host of physical and mental conditions of unprecedented proportions.

You see, the body is designed to heal itself.  It is a self-healing, self-organizing system.

These excessive stresses limit or completely disable the body’s ability to function as designed.

The body becomes clogged with toxins.  And so, the mind becomes cluttered and foggy; the body becomes weak and exhausted.

Many people turn to drugs, legal and illegal, to keep pushing through, only to create further depletion.

Diversity is Vital to Health

Everything is energy expressing itself through a variety of forms. When this energy is flowing freely, the form is organized in a way that allows full expression of the unique individual.

Under excessive stress this organization breaks down and, in response, there will be more uniformity, less diversity. Healthy biological systems thrive on diversity.

Uniformity tends to become stronger in the direction of a specific load but weak along another.  This creates rigidity, leading to breakdown.

A resilient system has the ability to bounce back to original form. It also has the ability to respond to the ever-changing world around us, which creates balance.

Your Emotions Play an Important Role

One of the most insidious factors creating imbalance and illness is unresolved emotional trauma from our past. Some call this PTSD. Dr. M.T. Morter, Jr., who founded the BEST system of healing, called it SEMO: Subconscious Emotional Memory Override.

In SEMO, our bodies are in conflict, expressing the past, which interferes with our ability to respond appropriately to the present.

Restoring Adaptability

Our treatments at the Vibrant Living Center identify and gently remove these interferences to rebalance the system, allowing us to better adapt to our ever-shifting physical world.

Combined with education in making better choices in the 6 Essentials for Health, these treatments allow your body to express your natural potential for health, happiness and success.

Call today to schedule an appointment to restore your body’s balance, organization and adaptability. Your health is worth it.

Are You in Balance?

Balance in a living system is the dynamic that allows us to adapt internally to the ever-changing external environments we expose ourselves to. If we go out in the cold we shiver, if we go out in the heat we sweat. These are examples of internal responses to external exposure. A static model of balance would be an old fashioned scale with two sides you want to weight equally. In a dynamic model we are in a state of constant flux. Two examples are riding a wave or a mountain bike. You are constantly shifting your weight forward, back, side to side, up and down to remain upright on the board or bike so your body stays on it in relation to the wave or ground. If you don’t, you wipe out or crash. The ability to respond is dependent on your sensory nervous system’s ability to interpret the signals from your senses to create appropriate output of motor response.

So we are constantly responding to the physical, chemical and emotional stresses in our lives. When stress becomes excessive it creates blocks in the nervous system that interrupt the sensory and motor signals that are necessary to maintain your balance. Symptoms of pain or dysfunction are indicators of imbalance caused by excessive stress. Serious diseases and chronic health issues indicate that perhaps you have crashed. So in my assessment of a patient I am looking for imbalance in the body, evaluating if you are responding to the moment correctly, and efficiently, then restoring the body back to balance through treatment as indicated.

Remember prolonged physical, chemical and emotional stresses eventually lead to exhaustion of the various systems of the body which is the underlying cause of disease and dysfunction. So if you haven’t been in for a session with me for a while give me a call so we can see what your state of balance is like. We can clear out the blocks that have accumulated to help you better adapt to the ever changing world around you. Better immunity, better hormonal response and better physical performance are some of the results of a body that is in balance.

pH Demystified: Toxicity (Part III)

A toxic system cannot function efficiently. Several things occur when the body is excessively acidic. The mitochondria within the cell will operate on a back-up system that is 10 times less efficient. This occurs because there is insufficient oxygen to run at peak so instead of producing around 30 units of energy per cycle it will only produce 3 units. Remember the body is built to survive so it will do the best it can in the environment you have created. The body will “rob” alkaline minerals from various tissues to get to the next now, leading to gall stones, osteoporosis, heart disease and more. Bacteria and cancer cells thrive in an acidic/low oxygen environment. Eventually the body becomes so depleted and exhausted we develop serious and life threatening conditions. As Dr. Morter pointed out, exhaustion is ultimately the cause of every condition created by excessive physical, chemical and mental/emotional stress leading to the body’s inability to adapt.

pH Demystified (Part II)

The blood is the most important fluid in the body. It carries oxygen and nutrients to every cell and carries the waste away. The blood needs to operate at a very specific pH range of 7.35-7.45 – slightly alkaline. The body is constantly trying to maintain the proper pH of the blood. It does this through intricate buffer systems. It uses minerals — specifically alkaline minerals– to buffer the acids. The body eliminates the metabolic waste through respiration. Excess acid is excreted through the urine. If your diet is insufficient in veggies and fruit (alkaline minerals), and high in meat, grain, sugar, etc . (acid minerals), the system becomes very toxic.

pH Demystified (Part I)

The body is alkaline by design, but acid by function. Every cell and tissue of the body should operate in a slightly alkaline environment but is constantly producing acids as a byproduct of its metabolism. The body has very delicate and intricate balancing systems to maintain the proper pH of the various body fluids. pH refers to percent hydrogen or as we like to think of it, your potential for health. pH ranges from 0 – most acidic, to 14, which is most base or alkaline, 7 being neutral. This has to do with the type of minerals present. The primary alkaline minerals are sodium, potassium, calcium, iron, and magnesium. The acid minerals are hydrogen, nitrogen, sulfur, phosphorus, etc. The body uses alkaline minerals to buffer the acid. Minerals are the key to life.

Two Truths About Your Body

pure balance

Two truths about your body: first it is a self-healing, self-regulating organism; it is built to heal itself. Second, the nervous system controls and coordinates every function; it receives information about your external environment then regulates your internal environment to adapt to the demands of the external. In fact, if I could only use one word to describe health that would be adaptability, the ability of the body to adapt appropriately to the external world. If physical, chemical and emotional stresses become too great, they interfere with this process and eventually exhaustion occurs, leading to disease. B.E.S.T. treatments identify and remove this interference helping to restore balance to the body/mind.

Frequency and Vibration

Our whole society believes the concept that we get infected, and then we get sick. The truth is we get sick, by lowering our vitality, our frequency, our vibration, and then we get infected. It’s really about what we are creating in our environments and our lives.

Victim or Volunteer?

You believe you’re a victim: a victim of circumstances, a victim of your genetics, a victim of society, a victim of whatever, meaning that you’re not at cause. You believe you’re not a creator at all. So we want to move away from victim consciousness. We want to recognize that we were at least volunteers in everything that we’ve done and been in life, looking at the deeper causal relationships of things.

Transmitting and Receiving

We are transmitters and receivers. We are transmitting energy and we are receiving energy. In a physical universe, opposites attract. In a physical universe, there is a law of repulsion. If you take 2 sides of a magnet that are the same, what do they do? They push away. When you turn them around, they attract. One of them repulses, one attracts. On the metaphysical realm, there is no Law of Repulsion, but we live our lives as if there is. We try to push away what we don’t want. But it doesn’t work that way.

Non-Physical Sensory Systems

Lotus_Kirlian

The nervous system is just the most physical communication system of the body but it’s not the only communication system of the body. Have you ever had someone walk up behind you and feel it before you saw him or her? You weren’t aware of them with your 5 senses, so what was it? Energy. You were feeling energy. We have these non-physical sensory systems that allow us to be aware of what is going on in our environment.
